Book Hangover

As as a huge fan of Rachel Joyce’s debut novel The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry I was a little reluctant to read her second for fear of being disappointed. I needn’t have worried, I loved it. I’ve just finished Perfect and I am experiencing that familiar feeling of sadness that you get when you come to the end of a really good book, the reluctance to let go of the story and characters. If I can be half a good a writer as Rachel Joyce when I grow up I will be a very happy woman.
